As Lisa is to cucumbers...

...I am to Neil Young. I cannot abide his voice. If I turn on the radio and hear it, I feel personally targeted. How dare they play that grating, irritating noise in my car?

I bet I hate Dido more than you hate Neil Young.

I hate Neil Young, too!
Though Dido doesn't really irritate me so much. I would never buy her albums, though.

Yes! I fucking win!
I'm the first to vote in the poll and, as of right now, 100% of respondents HATE CUCUMBERS!

Ok, I've made it even. Help, somebody!

I want to ask who the hell Dido is, but I guess I should be grateful I don't know.

I've decided I like cucumbers as much as Neil Young, but I can't claim to love either of them.

The other voice I can't stand is Michael Stipe's. Lead singer of REM. Like nails on a blackboard. Damn, now I can hear him in my head AARGH.

Dido is that british chick who sings "thank you" and "white flag." Her work is more commonly heard behind the Eminem song "Stan"

I hate Neil Young too but love cucumbers...

Thanks, Angela, for edging out the cucumbers.

I went to a birthday party for a three year-old today, Antonia, and heard more Michael Stipe in one afternoon than I've heard in years. I thought of you every time he sang!

Angela, this was LLL's BIL Rob's music, to put it in context.

That is kind of pseudo edgy for a public school principle...he must be trying hard.

As Neil Young is to you,

RUSH is to me.

Or Blues Travelor.

That is exactly how I feel about K-UT's resident ghoul, John Aiely (or however you spell it). If I accidentally hear him utter one syllable on any given weekday at, say, 9:03, before I've had time to turn the radio completely off after Morning Edition, I want to claw my own eyes out. I cannot STAND his pompous, pedophile-esque voice.

I have a friend who once told me that Neil Young's voice reminds him of what a cat would sound like being slowly rolled over by a steam roller...you know, like a centimeter a minute. Nice imagery, no?
