Hazel learned to ride her bike last weekend. She's been careening along like crazy on Hannah's old bike, with training wheels attached, and it's cracked me up each time I saw her. You've got the serenity of riding on a secure vehicle, coupled with the desire for speed of a five year old. Hilarious.

Anyway, I bet her a batch of cookies that she could ride her own bike, sans trainers. She took me on, fastened on her helmet and donned her biker boots, and took off. It was seriously that easy - she was long overdue.

The secret? A small bike, small enough that she can stand, and in order to touch the ground, have to bend her knees.
