During the party I hosted last month, one of the most entertaining storylines was the repeated reading of my helpful book, "Hints, Tips, and Everyday Wisdom,"a Rodale publication. In the Caffeine, Tobacco, and Alcohol section of this book, we learned that IF YOU DRINK, "When pouring liquor, don't pour straight from the bottle; use a jigger to measure out your drinks. You'll usually pour out less this way."

I broke my shot glass this morning while putting away the dishes, so tonight's post-prandial concoction of Licor 43, Bailey's and Kahlua just got a lot more potent.
